Craig was born in Lexington, Kentucky and now lives in Boca Raton, Florida.Craig is a member of the American Impressionist Society Inc. and is fortunate to study under the tutelage of renowned artist Miles Laventhall. Craig’s paintings have been selected for several exhibitions, including 2011, 2012 and 2013 Audubon Artist Society Annual Exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club in New York City. Several of Craig’s paintings have been featured on five magazine covers by Gage Publishing in 2012 and 2013.Craig’s paintings are inspired by his love of nature and wildlife. The strength and grace of trees, the energy that breathes from salt marshes, and the warmth emitted by sunlight at dawn or dusk, are the signature images defining Craig’s art. Ancient Live Oaks draped in Spanish moss, salt marshes intersected by tidal estuaries and sprawling stands of Aspen trees fill Craig’s canvases. Recently, Craig’s art has evolved and now includes the unique personalities of wildlife.Craig’s artistic expressions have sharpened his awareness and appreciation of the grandeur and beauty found in nature. Painting uplifts his spirit as the canvas comes alive with impressions that were deep within his mind and soul. Craig envisions his artistic creations as a grateful praise offering to God.

The majestic stature of a bison, the commanding presence of a grizzly bear, the strength and grace of trees and the luminous effect of sunlight at dawn and dusk are signatures of Craig Watts’s Art. Craig’s paintings are inspired by his love of nature and its inhabitants.
Craig’s goal is to capture the physical and spiritual elements of our great outdoors and the wildlife that call it home. His use of vibrant and unique color palettes add a unique perspective beyond traditional approaches. By drawing others into his paintings, he hopes to enhance the appreciation for God’s creation.
Craig’s grandmother was a professional artist and his father is an accomplished sculptor, yet Craig discovered his gift of painting relatively late in life. After a fulfilling career as the president of three furniture design and manufacturing companies, Craig redirected his creative talent to painting.
